We do test each one before sending.  This pen is more suited for adults as care needs to be taken when winding the pen up & down.   If wound up too far it can break the mechanism inside.  We recommend leaving the pen up, ready for use, removing the risk of over winding.  If broken, you can still use the top section as a spinner fidget but the pen itself may not function.
